This delicious fish dish comes courtesy of our friends at @dachivancouver โ lingcod cappelletti in a herring roe sauce + topped with salmon roe. Itโs a deep-sea loverโs delight! Paired here with a Beru Chablis.
Also on the event horizon at Dachi โ a course on the principals of matching wine with food, led by renowned educator Iain Philip. Over two evenings, guests will understand the principles of pairings, and taste how they work (and when they donโt) in this classroom-restaurant setting.
It is a deep study of matching flavour, acid, umami, weight, contrast vs. complementary, intensity, tannin, and considering region between wine and food.
Space is extremely limited to 10 spots, with physical distancing and all COVID-19 protocols in place. Tickets are sold as sets of two, and Dachi requests that guests bring someone in your household as per PHO orders.
The sessions take place on March 9 and 16 from 6 to 9 p.m. All food, wine and writing materials are included in the ticket price. Check out @dachivancouver for more information!

THINK LOCAL, ACT LOCAL
Couldnโt agree with you more, Chef!
In a recent piece in Foodservice and Hospitality Magazine, Chef Keith Hoare emphasizes the importance of supporting small and independent producers, providers and foodservice businesses in your own backyard.
โWe need to make sure that we support the people we live with, the people in our communities,โ he says. โCanadians need to put in that little bit of extra effort to buy from the independent business person, the small food producer, and local farmer.โ
Which local businesses are the heart and soul of YOUR community? Give us a shout and let us know so we can help share the love.

VANCOUVER BREWERY HELPS OUT BABY IN NEED
This is a win-win all the way โ we get to show our support for a North Vancouver brewery that is in turn showing its support for a local family in need.
From our friends at @thegrowlerbc: @northpointbrewing is selling cans and pouring pints of a special-edition beer in their brewery to raise funds and awareness for a newborn baby named Alejandro (Alejo) Angel who is suffering from a rare form of cancer that could require an expensive surgery in the United States.
North Point co-owner Liam Jeffries โ a longtime friend of the Angel family โ has opened his heart and his taps in an effort to help the family reach their fundraising goal.
You can read all about little Alejandro (Alejo) Angel and how to lend YOUR support via a GoFundMe page via the link in the @northpointbrewing bio.
This from the North Point team: โThis little guy is in need of all the positive vibes and love we can give him. Alejo is a fighter, and heโs got an army of love and strength standing behind him in his fight! Letโs do what we can to provide whatever support we can! You can also donate directly to the GoFundMe campaign in the brewery by asking any staff member.โ
Great cause. Great brewery. Great idea.
