Proving that Breaking Bread is a platform that proudly caters to all tastes — be they vegan, vegetarian or ‘flexitarian’ — we celebrate World Vegan Day today by humbly unwrapping a crossover burrito collab between the team at Vancouver plant-based conscious comfort-food hotspot Beetbox and the beloved Tacofino.

The ‘Not Today, Seitan’ — breaded and fried seitan fried ‘chick-un’, pumpkin-seed macha, cashew-lime cream, white-cucumber cream and lime chilaquiles. Pick it up starting today through next Saturday, Nov. 7 at @beetboxveg in the West End or at @tacofinovan’s Gastown Burrito Bar.

A warm shout-out on this cold and dreary Thursday to one of Breaking Bread’s most steadfast supporters and a beloved local spot to sample authentic, vibrant and inventive Vietnamese comfort food here in Vancouver — Anh and Chi.

Look to the @anhandchi kitchen and you’ll see the shy-yet-iconic star of the show: Chef Lý Nguyên (a.k.a. ‘Mom’), who grew up cooking alongside her own mother in her family’s Saigon café before immigrating to Canada in 1980.
