What’s Brewing
Some insight on how BC’s craft beer crowd has been keeping the taps (and the taprooms) open during a year that started off pretty flat in the latest issue of What’s Brewing.
In ‘Lockdown Logbook’, the magazine talks to industry insiders at breweries around the province, including Kent Donaldson of Whitetooth Brewing Co. in Golden, who talks about pivoting to sell packaged beer when the March shutdown started and the continued support of Whitetooth’s loyal fans, staff and customers, among other things.
Island time
We fully admit that as close as the Breaking Bread HQ is to the BC Ferries and floatplane terminals, we still don’t get over to Vancouver Island nearly enough.
But next time, we’re checking out The Courtney Room in Victoria for happy hour (peep those Duck Corn Dogs with plum ketchup and ballpark mustard and duck-fat-fried Potatoes Courtney with pickled shallot ranch), dinner and dessert.
Plenty of room to belly up to the bar, too, with signature and classic cocktails, some of the best wines from BC and an impressive selection of single malts. Pick up and delivery also available.
