HAPPY ST. PATTIES DAY!

No, it’s not March 17 — but it IS time to take advantage of an amazing take-out burger deal from the crew at @the.real.beef.buddies!

Their new $15 #pattypass (available at therealbeefbuddies.com or at the link in their IG bio) allows users to enjoy 50% off one burger each at some of Vancouver’s most desirable and delicious burger joints like @bellsandwhistlesyvr, @bellsandwhistlesdunbar, @between2bunsburgers, @downlowburgers, @fablediner, @popinavancouver and @pourhouse!

The offer is in effect from now until September 30, so there’s oodles of time to hit some patios, grab a brew and chow down on some of the city’s best burgers.

Flexitarians, take heart — vegetarian options are also on offer at all participating locations!

And here’s a bit of a burger bonus that gives back to the local hospitality community at a time they need it the most — $1 from every PattyPass sold will be donated directly to the Vancouver Food and Beverage Community Fund @vanfbc!

NEW PODCAST AVAILABLE FROM TRACK AND FOOD

Our friends at @trackandfood podcast have just posted their latest episode, which focuses on Chef Alex Sandoval of @lecrocodilerestaurant.

It's been just over a year since the pandemic upended everyone's lives. Some more than others, none probably more so than Sandoval. Co-host Jamie Mah was intrigued to bring her on so she could tell her story. As someone who was living her best life, cooking under world renowned Chef Ignacio Mattos at New York’s @estelanyc, Sandoval looked to have it all.

Then March 15, 2020 hit, and everything changed. Two days later she was on a flight back to Vancouver. Just like that, a dream stolen. A life forever altered.

As dour as all that sounds, this latest conversation from the Track and Food folks is fun and lively — Alex recounts her memories of that time with frankness and honesty. An opportunity was lost but time heals all wounds and she's a Chef at heart. You can feel how much she loves her work and that passion is what drives this industry. Much respect.

Check out the latest Track and Food podcast on Apple podcasts, Spotify, Scout Magazine or via the link in @trackandfood’s bio.
