‘Breaking’ News
Welcome to phase two, Toronto
Toronto bars and restaurants can exhale a bit now that they’ve been given the green light by the province to move to Stage Two and reopen patios (if not quite dining rooms just yet), but that doesn’t mean ALL establishments are ready, willing or prepared to get back to business quite yet.
In an article for Toronto Life, writer Jonathan Forani talks to a six-pack of prominent Toronto restaurateurs who are dealing the challenge of adhering to and understanding government guidelines and how to comply as part of the recovery process.
The Curatorialist
A BIG shout-out today to PR maven, Breaking Bread founder and industry thought leader Shelley McArthur Everett, who is the focus of a new post by The Curatorialist.
In the wide-ranging interview, Everett goes into detail about the ins and outs and rewards of a life well lived in the industry and the early, formative days of the Breaking Bread movement — founded in early March in response to the burgeoning COVID-19 pandemic — her team’s timely response and how they pivoted to forge an initiative where small and independent restaurants could seek solace and support while also connecting with their customers on a wholly new platform and in new and inventive ways.
A BIG thank-you to The Curatorialist for shining a light on Breaking Bread’s efforts to continue championing the cause of restaurants across Canada that are doing all they can to reimagine what they do best as they recover and try to reshape the industry in ways that will spell real, tangible change going forward!
