Sage words from the late, great Tony B. as we all begin to slowly sally forth, ‘double our bubbles’ and tentatively get back to routines in a time that has been anything but.

Granted, we may not be able to move as much or as far as we want these days and ‘staycation’ is likely going to be the operative word for most of us across the country for the foreseeable future, but we’re starting to see some bright light at the end of the tunnel.

Until we meet again, be like Tony and do unto others. Keep supporting small and independent restaurants in your neighbourhoods. Stand tall, stay strong and be kind. We’re all in this together.

In Calgary, newly christened pop-up pizza joint Connie & John’s is spinning a tale of two cities and serving up pies for paisanos in its new digs at East Village Calgary.

It’s the latest project for Charcut co-chefs and culinary wiseguys Connie DeSousa and John Jackson, who complemented the new project by launching an eponymous lifestyle show on YouTube and Instagram that provides a little history on the proliferation of this Italian-American staple.
