Save our small businesses
This is an urgent SOS (Save Our Smallbusinesses) alert for our Vancouver followers via our friend Kurtis Kolt:
“Home on The Range Organics at Broadway & Kingsway is really struggling for survival right now and they’re the very best little local indie grocery w/ ethical meats & provisions, cheeses, meal kits & so much more. They can REALLY use your support. Take-away, curbside pick-up, or delivery — they do it all! We just picked up our order which included Fife Bakery bread, Riceworks crisps, Non-Med organic ground turkey, and SO MANY Mad Brit Sausage Co. sausages (Turkey, Porcini Mushroom & Cranberry! Steak, Stilton & Chive!) Hit up their site and find a bunch of goodies to get; support RIGHT NOW means the world to them!
Don't forget to spoil mama
A friendly reminder that Mother’s Day is only a week away! And while this particular edition of Mother’s Day is definitely one for the books, there’s still plenty of time to plan the perfect celebration for the special moms in your lives.
Check out the ‘Mother’s Day’ search option on our homepage for unique ways to celebrate mom courtesy of small and independent businesses in your neck of the woods as well as specifics on packages, deadlines and delivery/pickup options. From coast to coast, we’ve got you covered.
Vancouver Farmers Market update
Congratulations to our friends at Vancouver Farmers Markets, which marks its 25th anniversary this weekend by getting back in the summer-season swing of things (albeit with some socially hip distancing) at Riley Park Farmers Market, Trout Lake Farmers Market and Kitsilano Farmers Market.
The markets are functioning as ESSENTIAL SERVICES during the COVID-19 pandemic, so things will be handled a little differently this year. Be sure to check out their website before visiting, but the good news is there is no shortage of local food coming into season! Asparagus, rhubarb, veggie starts, and other spring crops are rolling in from the fields right now!
